About Me

About Me

I am a qualified Psychological Therapist. I originally trained as a person-centred counsellor and I am an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT).

I am a member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My qualifications include a Degree in Counselling, a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychological Interventions (CBT) and Advanced Level 4 Diploma in Humanistic Counselling.

In addition to this, I attend regular courses to continue my professional development and learning, most recently completing a three week top up training course in working with patients with Long Term Conditions and qualifying as a CBT Supervisor at the University of Surrey.I have over 12 years’ experience working in a range of clinical settings, working with a wide range of clients’ presenting problems.

As well as working as a private therapist, I have worked for many years as a Psychological Therapist and Supervisor within West Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust, both in a primary care role and within a Multi-Disciplinary Community Team.  I currently work within the West Sussex  specialist NHS IAPT* Health team supporting patients with a variety of long term health conditions. Prior to training as a therapist, I worked for many years in a variety of senior marketing services roles in Design and PR agencies in London.

I take a person-centred approach to my work with clients, focussing on their goals with an understanding of their knowledge of themselves, in order to develop a bespoke approach to treatment.  I firmly believe it’s the relationship we develop together in therapy that heals and I work hard to listen and understand each client and the particular life journey they are on.
